Supply and installation:
- Complete inground and aboveground earth grid, crimped connections, connections to fence post and gates
- 10m deep earth electrodes
The Brandy Hill Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Substation is one of a number of BESS that are being constructed as part of the renewable energy grid which promises to produce and deliver cleaner energy to future generations.
The Challenge:
With a very tight timeframe of just 10 weeks, the project required meticulous coordination between Earthing Solutions and Milleen Group management teams.
Result:
The project was completed on time and on budget.
BESS Explained:
Battery Energy Storage Systems or BESS are large-scale rechargeable battery banks (primarily Lithium-ion) that store electricity generated from renewable sources or the grid, for discharging during outages, periods of peak demand, or to stabilise the grid. BESS are important grid-balancing infrastructure, providing fast-response power to manage peak demand, improve reliability, and facilitate greater renewable integration.
