Supply and installation of complete earth grid system including:

• 300mm2 bare cable buried earth grid
• 4 x 3m deep earth electrodes
• Cadweld connections
• purpose-built earth bars including connections and testing.

Earthing Solutions were contracted by Diona Civil Engineering on behalf of Transgrid to install the earth grid system. We had to liaise with J-Power, the Japanese power company that was engaged to undertake the 330kV jointing.

Challenge: The project required close coordination with the client as the earth grids were installed immediately after the precast joint bays. Due to the number of installations that were performed (88 in total), effective communication was essential.

Result: The project was successfully completed on time and on budget.
